If you're one to do your own nails, we're sure you want them to dry fast without any smudges.
You have applied two coats of nail polish, now all you’ve got to do is sit still long enough for your nail polish to dry, but we don't have that type of time.
So how do we dry our nail polish fast enough without getting them ruined?
Here are some tricks to make nail polish dry faster.
1. Get a Blowout for Your Mani
The most effective way to dry nails fast is by using your blowdryer on the "cool" setting to set your nail polish. Do not use the "hot" air from your blowdryer as the hot air actually prevents polish from hardening.
Blast that chilly air about six inches from your nail for about a minute. Then gently tap nails to see how wet or dry they may be.
2. Dip Nails in Cold Water
We now know that cold air will help your polish to harden, cold water is our second option.
You can dip your wet nails into a bowl of cold water. Just be sure to wait at least a minute before doing so to allow your polish to set preliminary.
A two-minute dunk should dry nails to the point that you can go about your business as normal.
3. Quick-Dry Drops
Once you have applied your nail polish, give your nails a few minutes of drying time, then you can apply one to two drops of "dry drops" on your nails. Make sure the formula covers the entire nail and give it about five minutes, you should then have a rock hard mani that won't smudge.
The quick-dry drops promote the evaporation of the solvent in the nail lacquer. There are a few different brands that offer dry drops.
4. Quick-Dry Nail Polish
If you can't get your hands on any drops, switch your usual top coat for a quick-dry version.
5. Use Oil
Get some baby oil, or even cooking spray, and apply a layer of oil on top of your nails. In about a minute or two, you should have a dry finish.
The oil essentially works by soaking into the polish and thinning out the paint. You can gently (and safely) wipe it off with a tissue.
