On May 25th, 2020 George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, was arrested by Minneapolis police.
The incident started when a deli employee called 911 accusing George Floyd of buying cigarettes with a counterfeit $20 bill.
Shortly after the police arrived, George Floyd was pinned down by three police officers, unconscious and showing no signs of life.
All four officers involved in George Floyd's death were fired the day after. Officer Derek Chauvin, who was pinning down Mr. Floyd to the ground for 8 minutes and 46 seconds was charged with 3rd-degree murder and manslaughter.
The three other former officers that are also seen in the video are Thomas Lane, J. Alexander Kueng, and Tou Thao. They are currently under investigation.
George Floyd was declared dead on Memorial Day hours after he was pinned to the ground by a Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin.
Many of us are demanding justice and want to take action after the death of George Floyd.
