"Parler" The New-Popular Social Media App.
What is Parler? Parler has been described as an alternative to Twitter, and is popular among people who have been banned from mainstream social networks or oppose their moderation policies. Parler markets itself as a "free speech" and unbiased alternative to mainstream social networks such as Twitter and Facebook.
Parler became the No. 1 most-downloaded app on Apple's App Store during the week of Election Day and No. 2 on Google Play, according to app analytics company Apptopia.
Parler was founded in 2018 by John Matze and Jared Thomson. According to Parler's website and App Store description, Parler is a place where people can speak freely and express themselves openly without fear of being 'shut down or censored' for your views.
Parler looks like a mashup of Twitter and Instagram, with its main feed, follower counts and ways to share posts and links.
According to Parler COO Jeffrey Wernick, Parler has more than 8 million total members and more than 4.5 million active monthly members.
